My thumb rule of understanding a topic is if I can explain it to someone in layman language. I like explaining a topic in a simplified manner, creating an easy way to explain things and relating things to practical examples. I won't skip the part until the student has got the crystal clear understanding of the topic.The feeling that someone has understood the topic I've taught give me a different sense of satisfaction.
