About Nelisha
My name is Nelisha Duttoo and I am 35 years old. I have 3 kids, 2 are boys and the youngest is a girl. Their ages are 11, 8 and 7. So in saying this let me enlighten you about my life. I have been teaching students English online from China and Japan. I was employed by Tutorabc for 4 years. Now I am currently working for Dada Abc. The students I have taught are of all ages both adults and children. My lessons with them was quiet diverse and covered many topics of interest. In my 6 years with Tutorabc , Talk 915, 51Talk and Dada Abc, I have realised that I prefer teaching children as they are more open to learning in a fun way. They are easily entertained during lessons and more eager to absorb what is taught as they have no or not much experience in learning. As I have a humourous and playful approach to teaching children tend to enjoy my lessons more than most adults. Also I have 3 children of my own which I also tutor on a daily basis so teaching has become natural to me. If I am not teaching my students online then I spend most of time teaching my children to read, write and calculate, phonics, vocabulary, etc. My love for teaching comes from my love for reading. Reading is my way of escaping the real world and entering a world of enchantment and mistery. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing and seeing a child be able to read, speak and write their thoughts and ideas with excitement and contentment. Knowing that I have made that difference in that child's life makes my job so much more fulfilling.

My teaching methods are based on topics currently taught at schools and I elaborate from there depending on the child's strengths in a subject. I think it is best to begin with what a child knows and understands as this builds their confidence and makes for a positive learning environment.
