About Georgia
Hi there! My name is Georgia and I am a second year English Literature student at the university of Edinburgh.
As a recent graduate from my secondary school, I understand that English Literature (especially when it's being taught in a class of thirty) is not for everyone. I actually really disliked it until year 11 when I was lucky enough to have an amazing teacher. Now I am passionate about it and am so glad that I chose it as my degree. This complete change in attitude was all down to that teacher in year 11, who taught me how to pick apart and understand texts and how to effectively communicate my ideas in a style that ensured I would tick off the mark scheme's requirements.
I understand from this experience that when not taught properly Literature can seem overwhelming and uninteresting, which as a tutor are two misconceptions I hope to deconstruct.

I am happy to tailor lessons to your specific needs. Whether you have a specific English literature exam to prepare for and need help writing essays to check off requirements on a mark scheme, or just want to discuss the texts you're studying more generally.
I am happy to teach anyone between years 10-13.
Lessons would run for one hour.
I don't have past academic tutoring practice but as a recent graduate, I am very familiar with the process of preparing for school exams which I achieved the highest grade at both GCSE and A level (9 and A).
I also study English Literature at Edinburgh University which has a very prestigious Literature department.

Perfect! The teacher is very empathetic, communicates effectively, and understands the true meaning behind the student's expressions.
- Saphoena, has great ideas, especially when it comes to analysing the quotes we discuss together. We need to work on finding the best way for her to communicate her ideas effectively in the clearest way to an examiner, so will be focusing on structing answers in the next lesson.Georgia's response :
