About Karl
Hello students! My name is Karl. You can call me Kuya Karl or any name you are comfortable with. Ever since I was a child, English has been one of the main languages spoken in our household. We use it casually and formally in almost every situation.
From a young age, I was also taught to develop a strong love for literature, ranging from action novels to romance, horror, science fiction, and a deep appreciation for the classics. I believe that literature and the arts are essential in developing critical thinking skills that many children are starting to lose today.
As a campus journalist for five years, I developed strong skills in writing, editing, and communicating ideas clearly and effectively. This experience trained me to pay attention to detail, think critically, and express complex ideas in a simple and understandable way. It also strengthened my passion for the English language and my ability to guide others in improving both their writing and comprehension skills.
I aim to share not only knowledge but also confidence in using English. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to improve at their own pace.

My approach as a tutor is based on patience, engagement, and active learning. I believe students learn best when they actively participate rather than simply memorize information. I use active recall, guided practice, and discussions to help students understand and retain what they learn.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous topics, followed by new material explained through examples and interactive activities. Students are encouraged to ask questions, practice their skills, and apply what they have learned. Each lesson ends with feedback and a summary of key points.
What sets me apart is my background as a third-year Physical Therapy student and a campus journalist for five years. My studies have strengthened my communication skills and ability to adapt to different learning styles, while journalism has given me a strong foundation in English, writing, and literature. I believe that literature and the arts help young people develop creativity, communication skills, and critical thinking.
My lessons are suitable for elementary, middle school, and high school students, as well as beginner to intermediate English learners. I can help with grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and spoken English.
