About Jamie
As a tutor at UC Berkeley, it has been very important for me to establish trust between the students and I as the university can be a very competitive environment and I want to make sure that students feel comfortable coming to me with their work whether they are proud of it or not. Therefore, it has been important for me to keep their work confidential as well as relate to them by being transparent and empathizing with their struggles during the writing process.

As a writing tutor at the university, I am equipped with the skills to not only help students achieve better grades, but also help them feel more confident their academic abilities. I am very flexible as I have been a tutor for students K-12 as well as college students. As a student who received the IB diploma, I am well-versed in many subjects such as math (stats,calc, algebra, geometry), English, Spanish, biology, chemistry, psychology, and history. As a 3rd year student at a liberal arts college , I have gained a plethora of skills that have deepened my understanding of the subjects listed above; for instance, I can teach coding in Rstudio. Moreover, as a writing tutor at the university, I am well aware of what college professors expect from students’ writing and I have a very clear understanding of citations.
