About Avni
I have taken IGCSE maths (A*), additional maths (A) and A level Maths and further maths (A*) and have tutored piers, friends, family and students in my school throughout. While I was doing GCSE and A levels, I created a WhatsApp account on another phone purely for maths enquiries and would receive questions from friends in my school, their friends from other schools and also complete strangers. I would reply to each of them with a step by step solution and follow up on any further questions they had until they finally fully understood how to solve the question. I have always loved helping people understand maths find tutoring very fun and rewarding.

As a student I always struggled with teaching style since I learned a very different way to my piers. Having always been a perfectionist also made it harder because I always wanted to understand 'why' and found that many teacher didn't focus enough on explaining that. It made me realise how important it is to offer information to people in the way they can absorb it best - rather than just a generic method. This made me empathise for my piers who I saw were also struggling like I was and so would offer my help to them once I had figured it out for myself. Being creative has led me to figure out different methods of solving problems which has greatly helped me to teach more efficiently and throughly. I truly believe that tailoring teaching to each person, coupled with patience, is the best way to help them understand the subject, enjoy it, and therefore, succeed in it.
