About Souvik
I am a graduate of the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, where I later returned as a fellow teacher for a year. I’ve received multiple awards and scholarships in recognition of both my academic excellence and artistic innovation. Trained in rigorous academic drawing, realistic painting, and technical skill development, I bring a strong foundation to my teaching. Beyond technique, I am also a researcher and artist working at the intersection of light, shadow, material, and perception. My work blends natural pigments, projection, and experimental processes like photoelectrochemical marble etching. I teach because I believe every student has a unique visual language waiting to be uncovered. My mission is to guide them with both structure and sensitivity—combining traditional skill with deep artistic thought.

I offer art classes designed for all ages—children, students, and adults—focused on thoughtful exploration through materials like acrylic, oil, charcoal, and natural pigments. My classes blend hands-on techniques with perceptual learning, creative freedom, and structured development. Each session is personalised to the student’s pace, interest, and level of comfort.
My teaching begins with deep observation—I aim to read each student’s mindset, tendencies, and intuitive patterns. I provide customised exercises to help them discover their own strengths, weaknesses, and personal visual language. I observe what they naturally repeat, enjoy, or return to—these reveal their true artistic nature. My goal is to refine these instincts while developing solid technical skills in drawing, human anatomy, light, shadow, planes, and design science.
Class structures include warm-up exercises, observation-based practice, exploratory techniques, and guided projects. More than teaching how to draw or paint, I focus on building philosophical thinking, confidence, and a sense of artistic identity. Every class becomes a journey of self-discovery through material and imagination.
