About Tobias

I’m friendly, patient and enthusiastic about helping students feel more confident in Biology, Physics and Maths. I have previous experience tutoring these subjects, supporting students through one to one sessions and helping them work through challenging topics, practise exam questions and strengthen their understanding. I enjoy making difficult ideas feel simple and adapting my approach to suit each student. During school, I achieved the highest GCSE results in my year group. While living in Chile, I achieved a perfect academic average and ranked 1st in my year group of 135 on two consecutive occasions. I was also awarded my school’s Academic Achievement Prize in both years.

My approach is centred around understanding rather than memorisation. I like to break difficult concepts down from first principles, identify exactly where a student is getting stuck, and then build the knowledge back up until they can solve problems independently. I also put a lot of emphasis on exam technique and understanding what examiners are actually looking for.
