About Andrea
I am a bilingual special education teacher with a strong background in literacy development and dyslexia intervention. I have experience working with diverse learners and supporting students in building foundational reading and writing skills through structured, research-based instruction. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham–aligned approaches and the Take Flight program, with over 100 hours of practicum experience. My lessons are structured, explicit, and multisensory, following an Orton-Gillingham approach to support reading, spelling, and writing development. I tailor each session to the student’s needs using diagnostic teaching and continuous progress monitoring. Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes. I have a background in elementary, bilingual, and special education, with training in Take Flight dyslexia intervention. My lessons are designed for K–6 students, especially those with dyslexia or reading difficulties.
