About Alexander
I am a passionate Trumpet player and musician.
I come from a career performing trumpet live, recording and accompaniment. I studied music at UNSW and followed with a few decades of teaching and performing all types of genres, but with a focus rooted in Jazz and the theory and philosophy around it.
I love improvisation and would enjoy playing solos in my sections of the performance. I am trying to dedicate some time back to education and share what I know. I have never stopped study of theory and think the seeking of knowledge is exciting to me. You never stop learning and part of teaching is engaging fully in the learning part too.
I guarantee I will bring enthusiasm and make learning fun by sharing my own personal approaches and show you that anyone is capable of anything if you use the right mindset.

My lessons and teaching style is always dictated by the student's needs most of all. My goal is to get you confident reading music, playing by ear too and not straining body or breath to get a sound. The approach I use is focused on development of fundamental trumpet knowledge.
My pillars for success are:
1. Warm up - the most important part!
2. Theory and Technical Study - finding focus and useful tools
3. Performance practice - A piece or etude to work towards.
4. Philosophy - Daily movement and breathwork, mindset is key.
Everyone is different, so I always try to work with the student and find a personal pathway to set and achieve goals!
