About Emily
Hi there, my name is Emily! I am currently a UBC student studying computer science. I am also a recent IB Diploma graduate. In my free time, I enjoy trying new Asian restaurants and spontaneous karaoke sessions.
Okay, enough fun facts about me. What about the tutoring part?
Well, tutoring has always been a major part of my life. I've been on both the student and mentor side. I've been a tutor for various students over the last 7 years, and I have been an eager student since...well forever! So I can say from experience, I definitely know what a good tutor entails.
To me, tutoring and mentorship means helping a student overcome mental roadblocks to achieve their true potential. Every kid has immense potential, some just require extra support from a mentor to help them realize what has always been there. As a mentor, I would ensure that I provide you with the emotional tools as well as the most effective resources to help you discover your full capacity for learning.

Perfect! I'm currently taking the IB DP program and Emily has helped me a lot with math aa! She explains difficult topics in a clear and easily digestible way, and if I have problems with a question, she's patient and willing to explain it again. Personally, I'm also more introverted and quiet, so lots of tutors don't work for me, but I feel very comfortable asking questions during Emily's lessons.
