About Riaz
Hi, I'm Riaz! I'm going to study Medicine at UCL, having achieved 9A*s and an A in my iGCSEs, alongside a predicted 45 and an achieved 41 in the IB Diploma (776 in my Higher Levels — Maths AA, Chemistry and Biology).
I've spent years mentoring and tutoring younger students, both academically and as a competitive fencing coach, so I understand what it actually takes to help someone go from struggling with a concept to mastering it with confidence. I also achieved the highest IGCSE score in the nation and scored 2200/2700 on the UCAT (top 11%).
I tutor GCSE/IGCSE Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry, and also support students with UCAT preparation, personal statements, and interview coaching for competitive courses like Medicine. Whether you're aiming to catch up, keep up, or genuinely excel, I bring the same patient, focused approach that's worked for me and for every student I've taught.

My approach: I teach for genuine understanding, not surface-level memorisation. Every lesson starts by nailing the core theory first, because a student who truly understands why something works can handle any exam question thrown at them, not just the ones they've practised. Once the theory is locked in, we work through past paper questions together, so you walk into every exam having already seen the patterns and pressure points examiners love to test.
I know this works because it's how I achieved the highest IGCSE score in the nation (Geography), with 9A*s and an A, securing a place to study Medicine at UCL — through solid fundamentals, not cramming. My goal isn't just to help you pass — it's to make you stand out in the classroom, with the kind of confidence and clarity that gets noticed.
Lesson length: 1 hour, focused and efficient — enough time to properly embed a topic and test it with past paper practice.
