About Connor
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Science tutor with a strong academic background and proven teaching experience in both the UK and abroad. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Medical Science and am currently completing an MSc in Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine at University College London (UCL), where I am achieving a distinction average. My teaching experience includes over three years as a Science and English teacher in secondary schools, where I supported students aged 12–18 to reach and often exceed their academic goals. I have also worked within scientific and healthcare environments, giving me a real-world understanding of how the subjects I teach are applied beyond the classroom. Students describe my lessons as clear, supportive, and engaging. I take time to understand each learner’s needs and learning style, then tailor lessons to build confidence and independence. My tutoring style is student-centred, patient, and highly adaptable. I focus on identifying each learner’s strengths and areas for improvement, then tailoring lessons to build confidence, understanding, and exam technique. I use a mix of visual explanations, real-world examples, and structured practice questions to make complex topics accessible and engaging. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and combine concept teaching, discussion, and problem-solving. I encourage students to think critically, explain their reasoning, and develop independent learning skills helping them not just memorise facts, but truly understand how and why things work.
