About Zac
I'm an Undergraduate Student at Durham University, and have been in education for five years teaching from ages 4 to 18. I have experience working with all sorts of needs and ability levels, from simple support sessions to teaching A Level classes. I deliver results by working with students to push them in exploring their own knowledge, and use questioning to guide students to the right answer so they can solidify the knowledge without it being drip-fed, which allows for better retention and affords students the ability to form logical connections which can be applied in unfamiliar situations. Feedback from my students always contains one resounding point; that they feel respected and that they are treated maturely, meaning they feel more comfortable to explore their knowledge and test themselves without fearing that they may get it wrong. The lessons are always judgement free, and mistakes are the best way to learn!

Lessons are initially focused on areas students feel they need extra assistance in, and will be tailored based on progress and understanding whilst introducing new concepts to assess broader understanding and interlinking of the subject matters. The lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and collaborative; with students leading the discussion within each topic to focus on their needs and development. I believe in giving a sound understanding of the reasoning as to why information is the truth, rather than expecting students to recite facts in exams without being able to re-apply the logical connections in unfamiliar scenarios. I have been tutoring in various fields for five years, holding level 1 and 2 qualifications in coaching and teaching swimming & safeguarding. I have taught A Level Computer Science and Programming classes in person, as well as debate, speech writing, and public speaking skills to a wide age range (from year 8 to 13). Lesson time is a minimum of half an hour, although an hour is advised for best content coverage. Chemistry tutoring is for GCSE level, and Computer Science is also available for GCSE and A Level.
