About Vanessa
I'm a university student studying media right now. I studied finance for a year before I started Media studies. I went to an International secondary school and observed and paid attention to how my ESL teacher taught us both vernacular and academic English so took that into consideration. Last year early 2020 I tutored a primary kid in Dutch( reading comprehension especially) and maths. I would most definitely love to tutor again.

It really would depend on the student's needs, plus the subject and topics covered within itself but here are the following things I look out for typically
- explaining using relatively easy (perhaps relatable) examples/comparisons
- logical steps procedure like scanning questions before comprehensive reading or making sure to use PEEL method(point evidence, explain, link back to the question) or for maths: easier quicker maths steps to get solutions etc
-If it's concerning learning vocab/grammar I would divide it up into different themes/sections with lots of representative imagery like how they do it in foreign languages. So that we cover multitudes of for example the English language and the tutee can picture exactly what the words/sentences mean( if that's the given subject)
-ofcourse I would give homework related to the things being discussed so I can see if tutee has a clear understanding and is mastering what's being taught
- may use PowerPoint/word/mind maps of some sort to visually show teaching materials
