About Imogen
After achieving a 9 in Music GCSE, an A* at A-level and passing my grade 8 cello with distinction, I have spent the last year studying Music at Jesus College, Cambridge. Previous to starting university, I have experience with teaching private cello lessons, helping younger A-level students with exam technique and revision of set works, and my preliminary study for a diploma in Music Education.
As a current Music student at university, I understand how demanding music can be! Music and music theory can be HARD, and it can so often feel overwhelming and overly abstract, especially in the context of the rigorous A-level, GCSE and ABRSM examinations. But they don't have to be!

I tailor my lessons to the specific needs of the individual, with specific efforts made to ensure all concepts are linked back to practical and real life examples, as well as the set works and wider listening prescribed by exams, giving you the skills you need to understand how music works holistically and coherently.
Since I recently went through the UK exam system, I know how it works and how to succeed. Depending on what you are looking for in tutoring - whether it be help for an exam or just to understand better what your teachers are covering in school - we will use our hour long sessions to ensure you are well prepared and confident!
