About Esther

My students have a range of learning goals. Some students take English lessons to improve their employment and career prospects. Other students want to improve their grammar or just to practice their English. Some of my students have needed to complete pre-sessional English languages course prior to starting post-graduate academic studies (MSc. and PhD).

Over the last two years, I've taught academic English to University students (Undergraduate, MSc. and PhD) from China, Taiwan and Colombia. My experience of University teaching has given me a good understanding of the English language needs of University students. My pre-sessional English language lessons in Business and Management and Creative Arts Studies have enabled my students to progress smoothly to their chosen course of study (MA, MSc. or PhD).

For the last two years, I have also worked as an online tutor providing general English lessons to students from the UK, Poland and Germany.

About the lesson

Hello. I'm Dr Esther Cruse. I'm a qualified British TESOL tutor and I love to teach English.
I take a friendly and flexible approach to teaching and I always tailor my lessons to the specific needs of each student. You will be taught using Off2Class - an online ESL lesson plan library.
The Off2Class library contains over 600 ESL lessons from elementary to advanced. Lessons include: one-to-one online or face-to-face tuition, an online lesson summary and optional online homework.

I hold three teaching qualifications: Trinity Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity CertTESOL), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PgC LTHE) and the Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate, forty hour distance learning course, I-to-I. I also hold a BSc. (Hons.) in Environmental Science and a PhD in Aquatic Chemistry. Whatever your learning goals, I would love to help you achieve them.
