About Kirsty
Hi, I'm an Economics undergraduate at the University of Nottingham with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. I achieved an A in A-Level Economics, missing an A* by just 3 marks, after improving from a D at the end of Year 12. Having experienced this journey myself, I understand the challenges students face and the strategies needed to make significant improvements in both subject knowledge and exam performance.
I am particularly interested in helping students build confidence in Economics, develop strong exam technique and achieve the grades they are aiming for. My own success came from using effective revision methods, active recall and consistent exam practice, which are techniques I now share with my students. As a current university student, I can also provide recent and relevant insight into A-Level Economics and what examiners are looking for.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students build a strong understanding of Economics while developing the exam technique needed to achieve top grades. I begin by ensuring students understand key concepts using active recall methods such as flashcards, blurting and regular knowledge checks to improve retention. Once the content is secure, we move on to application and analysis through practice questions, followed by exam-style questions and past paper practice. I place a strong emphasis on examiner expectations, essay structure and common mistakes so that students can maximise their marks in assessments.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if required. I achieved an A in A-Level Economics, missing an A* by just 3 marks, after improving from a D at the end of Year 12. Having gone through this improvement process myself, I understand the challenges students face and the strategies needed to raise grades effectively.
My lessons are primarily aimed at A-Level Economics students who are looking to improve their understanding of the subject, strengthen their exam technique and achieve higher grades, whether they are aiming to move from a C to a B or push for an A/A*.
