About Kiana
Hello, I'm a 3rd year university student at Queen Mary University of London. I currently do both Geography and Business Management BSc honours. I'm an English tutor, however, because of my IB score of 7. To be completely honest, I was a very poor student growing up. I moved to a new school every year and struggled deeply with my education. I got tested for dyslexia, etc. When I was 16, I dropped out of school. I tried to go back to school, but then I dropped out again because it was so hard I cried. A year later, I tried to go to school again, and I finally completed it. A younger me would have never believed that I'd be in university now. So, dear parents and students, I completely understand all of your struggles and hardships. I was there. That was me! I am very understanding to what your child is going through. Tests, essays, exams, homework -- they're hard. Very hard. So I'll apply the techniques I used to help me get on my feet, to help your child out the way I wished someone helped me.

30 minute to 90 minute lessons. My experience is in IBDP, but I can also teach GCSE and A-Levels. English is a subject based on high levels of critical thinking. You need to read, write, and understand the topics in the literature in order to pass with high marks. My lessons involve reading and critiquing past essays, and helping the student write a new essay that emphasises the strong conceptual thinking that the current educational system is looking for. My qualifications are informal, thus my prices will reflect that. I was president of writing society in college. I worked in management prior to uni, and I am capable of delivering clear, formal and informal, language to a variety of people. I update parents on everything the student does, and assign a small amount of reading or writing homework in case the student needs the extra help.
