About MacKenzie
I am an English/Creative Writing student at UBC with a passion for teaching and affinity for math! I took physics, calculus, precalculus, chemistry and biology in high school, and graduated with Academic Honours and Principal's List in 2018. I have experience coaching and volunteer-teaching in schools, as well as speaking to ESL university students.

My classes are intended for grades K-12. I'm flexible with my teaching style, because I understand that everybody learns differently. A typical lesson would start with a quick chat regarding what the student is working on in class, and what they already understand. From there, I identify the most important points to teach, and start with those. I like to use diagrams and interactive materials, both online and on paper. From my experience, most children learn best when they can interact and see visuals. I'm also able to offer lecture-style lessons for those who learn by listening.
