About Abigail
I am a recent UofT graduate, and a current medical student. I have been a tutor for the last 2 years, teaching English, French, and all Sciences.
For the college/university students: I've done everything from research and academic writing to journalism and creative writing. Meaning I have had a lot of experience with essays.
For the high school students: I have done many essay review sessions, and worked with students on their English assignments and projects tailored to the Ontario curriculum. We work with written literacy and argumentative essays
For the elementary school students: reading and writing comprehension work is very common work in my field. Work on EQAO prep as well

I match my curriculum to the work the students are doing in class. Should the student wish, we can work on getting ahead as well. I work as a tool to enhance the lessons the students have been working on in school. My main goal is to ensure understanding. I will lead students in the correct direction, providing helpful critiques and techniques for improvement. I want the student to feel heard and their needs to be met so that they do not feel like they are falling behind. I also want them to be confident in their work and in their ability to perform. I ensure my students practice what they are taught, and will help review work previously done. At the end of the day, the student and I will work as a team to boost confidence and performance in their class. My lessons range from elementary school to high school, as I have tutoring experience in all of these years. I teach reading, reading comprehension and literacy, writing techniques, and grammar. I also do essay writing, professional writing, research and lab report reviews, and academic paper reviews.
