About Ravkiran

If you are looking for a tutor that takes the time to understand your needs and how you learn, you've come to the right place! With years of experience helping students of all ages, I am adaptable and can tailor my teaching style to each individual student. I look forward to scheduling a session with you soon!

About the lesson

First, I determine the student's learning style and tailor my questions and demonstrations like so. For me to teach effectively, I decipher what foundation the student has with the material and identifying any gaps to fill.

Typically, I have seen teaching through practice problems rather than lecturing is most effective, but if extra assistance is needed, I explain the topic starting from the basics. To reinforce understanding, I allocate time for the student to independently practice problems. Especially with mathematics, practice is the only way to 100% grasp the concepts. I emphasize an active learning environment and have received positive feedback from parents and students on my teaching style.

In my 8+ years of tutoring experience, I have taught 6-12 mathematics, K-6 English/grammar, SAT Math, and college-level financial accounting.
