About Callie
With 8 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am a dedicated violin tutor committed to helping students achieve both technical mastery and artistic expression. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the highlights of my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with technical skill, emotion, and expression.
My teaching approach emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a complete and well-rounded understanding of music.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to nurture confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin with a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aiming to cultivate musicians who are technically skilled, expressive, and confident. Lessons are structured yet flexible, combining technical exercises, creative projects, improvisation, and performance preparation tailored to each student’s goals and abilities.
Motivation drives engagement and growth. I help students set achievable goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for learning. Communication ensures a collaborative and interactive learning environment, where students can ask questions, discuss challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is central to my teaching approach. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students develop a personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice, and respect for learning, establishing strong habits that support long-term success.
In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a complete musical foundation. This methodology ensures that students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally, while cultivating a lifelong love for music.
