About James
I am a video editor with over 15 years of experience working within London's busy post-production world.
I hold an MA from the Royal College of Art and a BA from the Arts University Bournemouth. I have also taught animation and editing at Bath Spa University.
I have worked professionally editing videos for music, sport, live TV, advertising, social media, drama and documentary. So whatever area of video editing you are keen to learn, I can help you with!

Video editing is a craft. There is far more to it than putting some music under your video clips and hitting render.
I guide my students to understand why and how to make creative decisions when editing your own videos. I have worked in lots of different areas of the industry. Working with household broadcasters and brands such as MTV to Apple.
I learnt filmmaking at Arts University Bournemouth and at The Royal College of Art. I have since taught at Bath Spa University as well as keeping up my own freelance video editing career.
I really enjoy working closely with students to help them achieve their goals and to be able to have all the tools they need to either pursue a career in video editing or simply to learn how to make videos for their own social media channels.
I'm happy to work with all ages. All I ask is that you come with a curiosity to learn and your own projects to work on. This can be as simple as filming some footage on your phone or as complex as needing guidance on editing and crafting narratives on documentary work.
