About Dave
A passionate and highly experienced music educator, performer, and composer with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality instrumental tuition throughout Northumberland. Classically trained under the guidance of Mrs Elsie Davidson and holding qualifications from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), I have developed a strong foundation in music theory, performance, and education. ABRSM qualifications are internationally recognised and reflect a high standard of musical achievement and expertise. I specialise in teaching piano, keyboard, drum kit, djembe, guitar, and ukulele, working with students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in both mainstream educational settings and private tuition. My teaching approach is tailored to the individual, combining structured learning with creativity and encouragement to help students build confidence, technical skills, and a lifelong appreciation of music. Alongside my teaching career, I am the founder and owner of a successful private music studio, established in 1990. Through this studio, I have composed, arranged, produced, and recorded music for personal projects, professional musicians, and a variety of creative productions spanning multiple musical genres. This extensive industry experience enables me to offer students valuable insights into performance, composition, recording, and music production. Known for my patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism, I am committed to creating a positive and inspiring learning environment where every student can achieve their musical goals. Whether teaching beginners, supporting advanced musicians, or collaborating on creative projects, I bring a deep-rooted passion for music and a dedication to excellence in everything I do.
