About Maya
I am a writer of fiction and screenplays. I received my MFA in English (Creative Writing) from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2017, where I was a Truman Capote Fellow, a Teaching Writing Fellow, and recipient of the Maytag Award for Fiction. I have lectured on writing at the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, Arts Share Iowa, the Loft Literary Center, and elsewhere. I have taught college writing courses and private workshops for over 8 years.
