As a dedicated writing tutor with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a strong background in academic and professional writing, I’m here to help you become a more confident, effective communicator. I’ve worked with students from middle school through college, guiding them through everything from persuasive essays and research papers to personal statements and scholarship applications. My approach is personalized, supportive, and structured—focusing on building clarity, organization, grammar, and writing confidence at every level. My teaching style is supportive, patient, and tailored to each student’s needs. I start by understanding your writing goals—whether it's improving academic essays, mastering grammar, or gaining confidence in your voice. I break writing down into manageable steps—brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising. I focus on structure, clarity, grammar, and argument development while encouraging your personal style to shine through. I also provide feedback that’s constructive and easy to apply. We’ll begin by reviewing your current writing or assignments, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Then, we work together to develop a plan—whether it’s organizing ideas, editing drafts, or practicing new skills. Each session ends with a quick recap and next steps. I understand that writing can be intimidating, so I create a judgment-free space where students feel safe to learn and grow. I also bring a strong academic foundation, real-world writing experience, and a passion for helping others communicate effectively. I work with middle school to college-level students—especially those writing essays for English, History, or Social Sciences. I also help with college admissions essays, scholarship statements, and general writing improvement.
