About Edie

I am an enthusiastic and high-achieving student dedicated to guiding learners toward academic success. Throughout my schooling, I have consistently strived for excellence, earning a place in the top academic tier of my cohort.

My personal academic highlights include:
• Top 10 Academic Award recipient for three consecutive years (2023-25)
• Selected participant in the prestigious Monash Scholars Program, a high-potential initiative run by Monash University for the top 10% of high school students.

Beyond my individual academic achievements, I have direct experience working inside the classroom. During my Year 10 and 11 work experience placements, I assisted teachers in a primary school setting. This opportunity allowed me to support a highly diverse classroom of children, giving me early insights into varied learning styles, classroom dynamics, and student engagement.

As someone who navigates ADHD learning difficulties, I understand what it feels like to sit with a difficult concept when I'd rather be playing video games. I bring deep empathy to students that struggle with focusing and executive function :)

About the lesson

I approach tutoring as a supportive peer rather than an authority figure, connecting with students one-on-one to build a comfortable space. Because I navigate my own learning difficulties, I understand exactly what it feels like to struggle with a concept at first. I bring genuine patience and composure to every session, ensuring no student ever feels rushed or overwhelmed.

I carefully adapt my communication style to match how each individual student processes information. Depending on what your child responds to best, my techniques include:
• Step-by-step breakdowns: Slowing down complex ideas into small, manageable pieces.
• Repetition: Revisiting core concepts until they truly click.
• Visual aids: Using structured visuals to bring abstract problems to life.
• Targeted error analysis: Asking students to walk through what they did, find the exact point the logic broke down, and encourage them to fix it themselves.

• My lessons are tailored specifically for students aged 9 to 15.
• To match your child's concentration span and academic needs, I offer flexible session lengths ranging from 30 to 70 minutes.
