About Miranda
I have a PhD in mental well-being neuroscience (Psychology) from the University of New South Wales & Neuroscience Research Australia. I earned the Dean's Award for Outstanding Theses for it in 2022. Prior to my PhD, I graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honors Class 1) in 2017 with an average grade (WAM) of 85 (HD).
I was a Course Tutor employed by UNSW Psychology from 2018-2022 teaching Assessment, Personality, Psychopathology and Research Methods 3 (advanced statistics for Psychology). When I moved to Canberra in 2022, I taught Introduction to Population Health and Research Methods & Design at the Australian National University (ANU) from 2022-2024.

My lessons focus first on finding out what you already understand, where you're stuck, and where the gaps in your understanding are.
I will take into consideration your course syllabus to prioritize teaching examinable content. I work by breaking down advanced concepts into bite-sized pieces that anyone can understand, and testing your knowledge by hearing you explain in your own words, and apply your knowledge to new applications.
I can also edit your writing at an hourly rate. I have graded psychology student essays, reports and dissertations for over 8 years and can help you clarify your ideas and improve your writing style for an academic audience.
