About Crystal
Feeling stuck when trying to improvise over a basic rhythm is a challenge many players face at the start. I provide custom backing tracks so students can practice soloing at home to overcome this hurdle. These recordings are designed to help you integrate new patterns into your playing immediately.
Kids and intermediate learners often find that this approach makes the technical side of things much easier to grasp. We will break down power chords and complex rhythms until they feel like second nature to your fingers.
I make sure that working professionals and exam candidates get the most out of every minute we spend together. You will see how quickly your confidence grows when you have the right tools for your practice sessions. My approach is rooted in the practical realities of performing live for an audience.

Spending 13 years as a self-taught guitarist has shaped my unique perspective on music. As a native Spanish speaker from Mexico, I bring a deep connection to the Latin tradition to every single student I coach. I have helped 500 students improve their skills in areas like reading tabs, tuning and maintenance, and complex songwriting. Being a teacher who grew up gigging in the Australian Latin music scene for 8 years gives me a special insight into the industry.
My lessons focus on clear explanations of scales and modes so that you can play with true confidence. I really enjoy sharing this heritage with the local diaspora community through our sessions. Having taught for over 2 decades, I am proud of the progress my students make every single week. It is a genuine joy to witness someone finally finding their unique sound on the fretboard.
