About Nadine

I have an MA in Social Work and qualified in 2013. Prior to this, I had worked for 10 years in a Child Protection Team before I made the decision to become a Social Worker and it is a decision that I have not regretted. Social Work is a very rewarding profession and it is one that I feel, you either do wholeheartedly, passionately and with great professionalism, or not at all. I am very grateful that I have been able to work in a profession that seeks to support children and families holistically and my progression to Team Manager level was so that I could have a direct influence and impact on how children and families are supported. Just as important, is recognising the privilege afforded to me by children, young people and their families to create positive change and provide me with a wealth of experience. I have also been fortunate to work with other amazing social workers who are at different stages of their social work journeys. I thoroughly enjoy supporting others to be the best that they can be in everything! As such, I intend to complete my Practice Educator Award in the near future.

About the lesson

Hello, I have 21 years social work experience in qualified and unqualified capacities. I have experience in Child Protection (front-line), Corporate Parenting and Adults Mental Health. My specialism is Court Work which I thoroughly enjoy. I have experience as a practice development manager supporting and line managing ASYE students, newly qualified and experienced social workers. I have been tutoring with the UK’s leading online tutoring platform since 2020 . Once I have developed an understanding of your needs, my virtual tutoring session will be tailored accordingly. My sessions would be suitable for: -Committed, passionate and open minded students with a strong work ethic (we are always learning!) -Individuals considering/pursuing a Social Work Career -Social Work students who feel stuck, unsupported in their learning or student SW placement -Newly Qualified/ASYE Social Workers who need additional support and/or feel stuck i.e. navigating their new career or compiling their ASYE portfolio What I offer you is bespoke tutoring sessions surrounding: -Interview preparation for College, University or a Social Work position/placement -Proof reading/brain-storming sessions regarding assignments, essays or dissertations. We can use diagrams for more visual learners and real-world anecdotes and examples for creating links and easy recall. A friendly open space to learn, think critically, reflect, challenge and be creative -A patient, listening and honest ear -Sound advice/guidance which is underpinned by extensive experience and expertise Sessions are for 1 hour online. If you kindly require me to read any materials prior to your session i.e. more than a task/question/learning objectives. Please be aware that this will incur an additional fee. Payment must be made before the paid session/s please. Sessions will involve tools such as role play, reciprocal questioning, homework or case studies to promote learning. Session frequency is mutually agreed and which is convenient for us both. I currently tutor students on a weekly or ad hoc basis. Please note that as of February 2023, I will only be conducting tutoring sessions in the evenings Mon-Fri (from 8pm) and anytime on the weekends. If you purchase a session package, there is no time limit on when you must complete these sessions.
