  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in Accounting, Economics, and Business began during my early academic years, but it truly solidified as I progressed through my ACCA qualification. I was fascinated by how numbers and economic principles shape the decisions behind real businesses. My journey into private tutoring started over 7 years ago when I began helping peers and juniors understand complex financial topics. I quickly realised I had a talent for simplifying difficult concepts and making them accessible. From there, tutoring became more than just a side activity—it became a full-time passion.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I specialise in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics, Business Strategy, Finance, Audit, and Taxation. I enjoy discussing real-world applications of accounting principles, how economic theory drives policy and markets, and how businesses make strategic decisions. Students often find topics like consolidation, variance analysis, or economic modelling challenging—but these are areas I enjoy breaking down and making engaging.

If there’s one area I like a little less, it might be the extremely niche or overly regulatory parts of tax law—though even then, I find ways to connect them to practical scenarios to keep students engaged.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I had an economics teacher early in my academic journey who had an incredible ability to connect theory to the real world. He turned everyday news into economic lessons and helped me see how dynamic and impactful the subject could be. That experience taught me that good teaching is not just about knowledge—it's about connection, context, and clarity. It's a standard I aim to meet in every session with my own students.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs to have deep subject knowledge, but that’s only the starting point. The real qualities that make a difference are patience, clarity in communication, adaptability, and a student-centred approach. Every learner is different, so being able to explain the same topic in multiple ways, identify weak areas quickly, and build confidence is key. A good tutor doesn’t just teach content—they teach how to learn and how to succeed in exams and beyond.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I once worked with a student who was failing her Management Accounting module and had lost all confidence. She was bright but overwhelmed. We started from the basics, slowly rebuilding her understanding and, more importantly, her belief in herself. By the end of the semester, not only did she pass—she scored one of the highest marks in her class. That transformation reinforced for me how powerful good tutoring can be—not just in grades, but in mindset.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges in these fields is keeping up with changing regulations, syllabus updates, and new frameworks, especially in areas like Tax and Financial Reporting. As a tutor, I make it a point to continuously update my materials and adapt to different exam boards and standards. Another challenge is helping students who come with strong fear or anxiety around numbers—but over the years, I’ve developed strategies to break down that mental barrier and build their confidence from the ground up.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I’m genuinely passionate about teaching and mentoring. There’s something deeply fulfilling about guiding someone from confusion to clarity and watching their results improve as a result of our sessions. Within the subject, I’m especially drawn to how accounting and economics intersect with real-world decision-making—how businesses operate, grow, and adapt. Beyond teaching, I also enjoy staying updated with global financial trends and helping students link theory to current events.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

What sets me apart is my combination of professional expertise (ACCA qualified) and extensive hands-on teaching experience with over 200+ students across 15+ universities and institutions. I’ve taught at all levels—from high school to Master’s and professional qualifications—and have a proven track record of helping students achieve top grades and pass rates.

I don't just teach content; I teach strategy, exam technique, and confidence. My approach is always personalised, structured, and focused on results—whether the goal is acing an A-Level exam, passing ACCA papers, or mastering university coursework. That's what makes me a true Superprof
