About Verona
Board vision is often the missing piece for players who find themselves stuck in a rut. Sometimes, it takes a fresh perspective to see the tactical patterns or opening principles that you have been overlooking.
I earned my MSc Mathematics from the University of Warwick, but my true passion lies in teaching chess, which I have done for 13 years while helping 121 students refine their competitive mindset. I approach the game by slowing down the decision-making process, ensuring that king safety and time management become second nature. Setting up a diagnostic rating assessment first is how I start every single relationship. I confess that I find it difficult to teach without understanding your current level of play. We utilise my 13 years of experience to target your specific weaknesses in a way that feels productive rather than overwhelming. You can expect a conversation that focuses on your thought process rather than just the moves.
I personally enjoy watching students connect the dots between logic and board control. My hope is that we build a strong enough foundation to make your games more enjoyable and precise.
