About Yuli

I am currently an MSc Linguistics student at a top university, aspiring to become a professor in the same field. Throughout my own education, I found the requirements for GCSE and A level questions confusing if not somewhat misleading, and this made me determined to figure out how they actually work: I read countless examiners reports, grading guidelines, teaching guides, and even consulted with Exam Board members and experienced graders. I had eventually figured out a unique and accessible formula for each question type, which led to me graduating Sixth-form having received As and A* in a vast majority of my assignments and mock exams throughout the year. When I became a tutor I had refined my own experience into a teachable method that is both flexible and understandable for students at any level looking to understand their exams at a deeper level while developing their subject skills.

About the lesson

I offer online lessons for students in Key Stage 2, 3 or 4, focusing on English Language, English Literature, and general spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. I focus mostly on exam preparation for GCSEs, A level, SATS and any other tests. Whether you need help with vocabulary, grammar, spelling, exam structure, essay writing, understanding literary text, or even more. I will help you study in a fun, engaging way which will help you feel confident in your area of choice.

I believe that anyone can succeed if they put their mind to it! Together we will assess areas you wish to improve on and come up with the best strategies to ensure you understand the material and know how to implement your skills into your work.
I am a compassionate and understanding person who is able to tailor my methodology to the needs of my student, including the pace, revision method, and overall approach. I have experience working with vastly different age groups and experience levels and feel confident that through communication we can find a method that works best for your needs.

Details

I offer a free 30 hour trial session where we will discuss your desired outcome, current skill level, and improvements you would like to see, I will use the information from this session to come up with a detailed plan for you and figure out the teaching method that would suit your needs. From that point, I work with 1 hour lessons, but can accommodate up to 3 hours at a time if that is required for pre-exam revision.
