About K-R
K-R holds a BA in Acting from Dalhousie University, and an MFA in Directing from the University of British Columbia. A rarity among teaching professionals, K-R's resume is split between on-screen and live performance, and work in film & television production including both drama and documentary. K-R brings an unparalleled knowledge of the entire production ecosystem, from financing through to distribution, inclusive of the technical aspects of theatre, film and television. Trained in physical and academic aspects of acting, K-R's approach to instruction is to assess a student's innate abilities and, while honing and refining them, attending to a student's challenges and developing a course of study that results in a formidable foundation across disciplines and media.

Private, semi-private, on-demand lessons for actors 18yrs+. Broad background in technique; supportive & rigorous training that is practical, relevant & applicable. Instructor with decades of experience on both sides of the camera, assuring informed approach. Students are immersed physically, emotionally, & intellectually, in order to provide solid foundations. For on-demand classes for groups of 4+ students: study space is flexible according to location of students and is booked / arranged my instructor. Private / semi-private classes are flexible re: space which may increase cost; please send queries to instructor.
Lesson plans are developed per the needs of the student; ie. past experience and training, age, etc, and will require commitment from students in the form of homework, preparation for class, etc. Lesson plans may include script study, physical exercises, personal reflection.
Instructor is committed to safe spaces and all students are welcome, of all backgrounds, religions, cultures, ethnicities, and racial or gender identities. Students will never be required to share personal details with instructor or other students.

Travel rates are for at-home lessons at student's home, where travel is 20+min from locus Kingsway & Boundary. First free lesson offered by phone or zoom. Cancellations made 48hrs before lesson are subject to rescheduling; classes cancelled within 48hrs are subject to 50% fee and require payment for rescheduled class.
