As Drama is so personal and creatively based i approach each student and lesson uniquely to fit their personal needs. For High School Drama students i will work with you to prepare for written exam tasks, constantly build on your acting skill sets and really invest in your preparation for Performance Exams by thoroughly editing, reviewing and being an integral part of your divisive process.
In regards to theatre practice I am a hand on deck teacher. Practical learning is key when acting is involved, however, theory is equally important in theatre and often disregarded and therefore is just as important in my teaching.
Depending on your needs, we can delve into text, get a piece of theatre up on its feet or dive into theatre practitioners and their teachings. Lessons will begin with a warm up and discussion of where we'd like to end up at the end of our time. Theatre is a collaborative art form and you will only learn if both parties are open and listening to the other.
My teaching methods and styles are mostly interactive, upbeat and demonstrative. However they are catered specifically to my students and their individual needs. In all this, I do not loose focus of the lesson objective, and am clear in reiterating the importance of this objective to the students.
I will bassing my classes for University or school students. these private lessons will be to help the student prepare for any auditions coming up or go over any assesments. i can help with written script for assessments and can help prefect any performances the students needs help with.
My belief is that student and teacher should work together to achieve the best outcome for the student, and in an environment where all are passionate about what they're studying, that collaboration is achievable. A typical lesson will look more like a masterclass, where students bring a song/script etc.
My approach to teaching starts with the student understanding of the craft and understanding of self through physical exercises and techniques (starting with the voice) - Understanding of self is vital in the process of finding your theatrical 'truth' and developing your fluidity and confidence as an actor and acting student.
Drama, isn't about me telling you what to do. It's about you exploring what your capable of. I help students understand the fundamentals of drama, and push them to their limits. So they can produce the work they want to create.
First and most importantly is the style of actor you want to be, once we go from there we can build on that idea. I have been in a great variety of productions and have had to practice many different acting styles from children's theater to Shakespeare, knowing when to be comedic and how much comedy is needed at the given moment and when to be dramatic.
When I teach and/or tutor any subject the first thing I find out is what the student/students actually know and can already do. The next step is to focus on understanding the questions they are required to answer. Then we build on prior knowledge, explore the topic and follow a plan to complete the required tasks/assignments.
My Teaching Method is based on production ready focus. Whether its a film or stage project or even personalised videos / vlogs. Take your Dramatic / creative project to the next level by enhancing your dramatic skills to connect with a wider audience.
I approach my teaching in regards to the level of experience you have, what you are comfortable with and what type of learner you are (visual etc).
My teaching method is relaxed and based on what you as a student would like to improve upon. I value amd respect your style of learning as well as strive to encourage growth whilst making it as fun as possible.
Who do you want to be? Why? Instead you can be a ghost. Learn how to observe the relationship of spirit and decay, and harness the forces that bind us together. A new style of time management guaranteed to dazzle and mystify.
A base my teaching on a firm foundation of healthy vocal technique, customising lessons based on the individual student and their concerns. I like to think of myself more as a coach than a teacher, adjusting techniques when necessary to promote a healthy, functional and consistent instrument.
I assess the need, make a plan of support, build confidence in learning, while I assist the student to build these skills needed to be a successful learner
I cover a range of acting, voice and movement methods based on your learning needs. Lessons to fit any level are both fun and challenging.
Miesner, Stella Alden, Constantin Stanislavski and much more.
This course is provided for people who are really interested in Chinese traditional opera which is the essence of Chinese culture. To learn Chinese traditional opera requires patience and high respect for the art. The singing and acting is extraordinarily beautiful and also not easy to be learnt.
Acting Teaching Methodology Christina teaches method acting skills (based on Stanislavasky and Meisner acting techniques). Helping students to bypass their own mental mind blocks and becoming more “present” and “in the moment” – in other words, learning to trust in their native feeling state, rather than the rigidity of the mind.
My classes vary depending on what I'm teaching. If it is Acting on Screen I will have my students do a lot of on screen work allowing time for evaluation and reflection. Stand Up Comedy would involve watching other comedians then allowing time to teach/create how to write and deliver an A grade performance.
I base my classes off of many other Acting classes and Drama techniques. We will Explore Physical Theatre, Contemporary theatre, Verbatim Theatre, Brecht Theatre, and Stanislavski. I am young an easy to get along with, anyone is welcome no matter your Religion Or Ethnicity, my classes are a safe space.
I am a very passionate and dedicated young teacher. I have found that one of the best ways to learn is by watching then doing. As such, I always encourage my students to try new skills in a safe learning environment so that they can grow in both ability and confidence.
My teaching methods are highly versatile after 15 years teaching acting I have learnt to adapt to my students needs. Some need a gentle push and some need a kick! I believe strongly in aiding the anxiety adults and children have to unleash their full potential.
