I base classes on the interests and prioritised needs of students, aiming to provide clear and practical teaching. I like to focus on unit outlines (particularly for VCE) and set students up as best I can for classes/SACs/exams/etc. Especially when it comes to psychology, getting your head around the specific terminology is key, and once that happens, the rest comes easy.
I am a 4th Year Occupational Therapy student studying at Australian Catholic University. I have been tutoring for 2 years (part of that being with non-native English speakers), and have experience with all ages and learning stages. Psychology was my best subject in VCE (42 ATAR) and I absolutely love it. My degree has also involved applying much of my psychology knowledge.
- 89% ATAR in 2016: 42 Psychology
- currently completing 4th Year Occupational Therapy at ACU
- extensive tutoring experience at SAIL 2018-present
- work in before and after school care 2017-present
Gabby is a kind and encouraging teacher who will go above and beyond to help you the best she can. Gabby’s love for reading and writing comes through in the way she teaches. She will not only help you to improve your grades but will also instil in you a passion for language and learning.
Gabby is great at providing good quality English grammar lessons that will help you to improve. She is motivated and hardworking, so she will definitely help you on your way to English success!
I have worked with Gabby for 3 years in a volunteer setting and she has proven to be reliable and excellent at what she does. Gabby has volunteered her precious time and knowledge in community tutoring for 2 years and I have seen that she quickly builds rapport with those she's teaching as well as her fellow tutors. Gabby is patient, calm and absolutely pleasant in nature. I believe her students can benefit greatly from her experience, knowledge as well as the pleasant learning experience she provides.
Gabby is a kind and caring person and has been a delight getting to know as she has been a dear friend for many years. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with her volunteering at a local Church as a childcare worker as well and she has been amazing. She encourages the children to do their very best, as all teachers should and teaches the children with a calm and collected tone. While working with her, she performs tasks to the best of her ability, leads with assurance and supports other volunteers by showing care and compassion for them.
From what I've seen these past years, she would make a fantastic teacher.
