About Angelena
I am an Amazon Best Selling Christian Fiction Author. Three of my books made it to number one, and two more of my books made it to the top five of their genres. Being an author has allowed me to gain an excellent grasp on the English language and reading comprehension. However, being a Christian author is not the only professional experience I have. I am also a Substitute Teacher in North Texas. I have taught children K-12 English and reading comprehension. I have also taught middle school children Spanish level one, securing the best understanding of English to translate and help native English speakers learn Spanish with tips and tricks. Lastly, I was a tutor at my private college for English level 100-400 classes, capstone classes/papers, as well as ESL. I have worked with students on various learning levels and have been successful with these students. My professional background is rooted in the progress of others or the entertainment of others. So, what sets me apart? Being an author and a substitute teacher gives me an edge, but let me explain why. As an author, I have written books in various genres for multiple age ranges. Which means, I have written about the things you've likely discussed in class. I've used literary elements and such to produce well-received and loved stories by readers of all ages. I have a good handle on the English language and all it encompasses (i.e., reading, comprehension, etc.). The second experience I offer that will help your tutoring sessions be successful is... I was a tutor before and I am currently a substitute teacher! I have done this before and am currently immersed in the learning world which allows me to stay up to date with current learning methods. Who Am I Teaching? I tutor grades 5th-12th grade students, and undergrad students. If you don't see your age group or grade here, please still reach out! We may be able to make arrangements, I am flexible :) My teaching method: I teach based on you! My goal with each session is to get to know you a little better alongside helping you progress and meet your educational goals. By getting to know you, I am able to tailor lessons to your learning style and provide a meaningful and engaging lesson. Typically in a session: I like to start off with introductions and recapping where we left off, or finding out what you are specifically looking for with this session and future sessions. Then we move into the session, going over material and touching on key points. Lastly, we wrap up by a lesson's recap and seeing where we'll go from there.
