About Tessa
I grew up in America my whole life and am in the highest percentile in the country in reading/writing skills on the SAT.
My vocabulary is extensive and I make for an excellent conversation companion- we'll never run out of things to talk about! I have visited 14 countries including India, Puerto Rico, Greece, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Peru, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Canada, and more. I have two siblings and love to talk about anything from politics to shows to gossip. I can't wait to be friends!

As a high school graduate from New York with exceptional reading and writing skills, I offer a highly effective approach to English tutoring, tailored for Parisians aged 13 and up, primarily focusing on adults and high school students aiming to pass exams like TOEFL and TOEIC, those planning to move to an English-speaking country, or anyone who wants to speak English confidently.
My teaching method prioritizes conversational learning over rote memorization. I believe that fostering the ability to engage in real-life conversations is far more valuable than merely memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules. I create a friendly environment where students can just have fun and talk to me and improve their English.
A typical lesson plan with me involves a combination of activities- we will converse casually for the first forty minutes then walk around and describe surroundings to each other. I also include reading comprehension exercises and writing tasks for students aiming to pass English tests.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, extensive vocabulary, and the ability to connect with my students. I adapt to individual learning styles and pace, ensuring a comfortable and effective learning experience. I'm also well-versed in various English exams and can provide targeted guidance to help students excel in them.
