When i teach i like to make it very person specific. Not one method is best for everyone; we need to adapt to, and be flexible around how the student's needs and how they learn best. When learning violin I like to make sure students can read music as well as play by ear as both are very important skills. Basics and technique are also important but i do understand that and learning new pieces keeps practice interesting especially with younger students.
I have been a violinist since the age of 4 and have performed as a soloist, in a quartet, and a trio. I was a scholarship holder throughout high school and an elite athlete for 10 years. I've been teaching for about 18 months thus far and find it so rewarding. Watching someone grow as a musician and a person is amazing to see, knowing that i helped them along this journey. I've been through the ups and downs in music and I'm confident that i can pass on my knowledge and experience.
