About Alan
I am a recent astronomy graduate who has some teaching experience in a laboratory setting with about forty students at a time (assisted graduate student teach astronomy at UMass). As a former student-teacher I understand the need for understanding and patience during the learning process. In my field primarily I have been a researcher building astronomy instrumentation - the tools that allow astronomers to do astronomy.

My teaching method is based on passion and patience. I believe it's a teacher's responsibility to convey excitement for a subject while extending an understanding to students that their background and interests may not fit perfectly with a subject. I aim to make a student comfortable with both a subject and the learning process.
