About Jessica
I am currently studying to become an Audiologist and have an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Neuroscience. I am very confident in the field of psychology and since graduating I have worked for University of Surrey and Royal Surrey County Hospital. In addition, I have also taught PE at various secondary schools with a company known as 'Sports 4 Kids'. Furthermore, I have also held various revision sessions for GCSE Biology students on a one to one basis.

My approach to teaching varies with each student as everyone's approach to learning and recall is very different. Generally, I begin by identifying which subject areas are the problem for the student, through general conversation and prompting. Once we have idenfified the areas that require work, I like to make the content relatable and therefore more memorable. I will also set tasks for a student to do in front of me to ensure they have an understanding of the content they have just learned and then I will ask them to go away and practice. Subsequently, the beginning of each lesson starts with a quick verbal 'quiz' to check the student's recall from the previous lesson objectives. Dependent on the outcome, we either go over any relevant content that is not understood or we move onto the next topic. If I feel a student has a general understanding of a topic and is struggling with exam conditions, I alter my approach and ensure the lesson topic is always varied and use interactive activities in order to ensure the student is consolidating the information ready for the exam.
In every lesson, there are always obvious objectives for the students in order for the student, parent/guardian and myself to track progress and feel accomplished. I also get many tips from an A-level and Undergraduate teacher of 20+ years (my Mother!).

Cancellations-
If you provide 12hours+ notice, there will be no cancellation fee. However, if you are to cancel a lesson with less than 12 hours notice, I will charge a £10 fee for this cancellation.
