About Haylea
I’m a young female teacher from rural Victoria. I have always had a passion for education, I strongly believe that knowledge is power. As teachers we have the ability to embed this power amongst the future of society. Coming from a small rural community I have witnessed first hand the impact that education can have and the difference it can have on people’s lives. I believe that education is a basic human right that should be accessible for all children regardless of their background. I believe that all children are entitled to a high quality, equitable education.

Over the last 3 years Covid-19 has dramatically impacted the education system. Students have experienced schooling in and out lockdowns potentially limiting their ability to experience positive academic achievements. Although schools are out of lockdown the impact of the past 3 years still impacts on learning basics fundamentals in the first few years of school. I believe that as educators we should be investing time into helping students in achieving their full academic potential
