About Dominique

I’m a qualified English teacher, theatre director and trained performer with eight years’ experience teaching English and Drama in leading independent schools. I’ve always been passionate about helping young people discover their own voice, develop confidence and realise what they are capable of.
I became a teacher because I love the moment when something that once seemed difficult suddenly clicks. Whether that’s unlocking a Shakespeare text, finding the confidence to express an idea in an essay, or discovering a new way into a character, I find it incredibly rewarding to help students make those breakthroughs.
My background in professional theatre brings another dimension to my teaching. I trained in Musical Theatre Performance and Theatre Directing, have worked at Shakespeare’s Globe and directed professionally, so I bring genuine industry experience alongside rigorous academic teaching.
I want every student I work with to feel that their tutor really understands them. I’m encouraging and approachable, but I also have high expectations and a clear focus on progress. Ultimately, I teach because I want students to leave my sessions not only better equipped for their exams, but more confident in their own abilities.

I want you to leave every English session feeling more confident than when you arrived. My approach combines eight years of teaching experience in top private schools with my professional background in English Literature and theatre studies, making lessons engaging, rigorous and genuinely enjoyable. I’ll tailor every session to your needs, breaking down challenging ideas, developing your analytical and writing skills, and giving you practical strategies to approach exams with clarity and confidence. My goal isn’t simply to improve your grades, but to help you become a more confident, independent learner.
