My approach as an ESL tutor is pretty practical and conversational. I focus on helping students use English comfortably in real-life situations rather than memorizing grammar rules that don’t always translate to everyday conversation. I rely a lot on conversation, repetition, and clear examples. If something doesn’t click right away, I explain it differently or use a real-world situation to make it more understandable. I try to keep lessons relaxed and supportive, because people learn better when they don’t feel rushed or judged.

I speak Spanish, which helps me better understand where Spanish-speaking students may get stuck or feel unsure. While lessons are primarily in English, I can clarify concepts when needed in a way that feels supportive rather than frustrating.

A typical lesson usually starts with some light conversation to help the student feel comfortable and to get a sense of where they’re at that day. From there, we focus on a specific topic or situation, such as everyday conversations, work-related English, phone calls, appointments, or common phrases used in daily life.
