About Jeff
After earning my BS in Psychology, I became a Middle School Math Co-teacher, and then I did some social work as a Mentor/Tutor in the same age group.
After deciding to return to school for my BS in Microbiology, I continued to work in various instructional roles, such as leading laboratory courses, supplemental instruction sessions, and private tutoring sessions.
Throughout my 4 years experience teaching, I have helped hundreds of students. My most recent accomplishments include teaching Organic Chemistry II labs, in which all my students passed and many got A's. I am enthusiastic about teaching, because I am passionate about science.
I feel I am especially good at tutoring pre-medical students, because I am able to integrate the connections between seemingly diverse subjects, such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, into a comprehensive understanding that is required for deep understanding of medical concepts.
Because of my background in Psychology and Philosophy, I am easy to get along with and I know how to reword concepts to suit individual students.

I have two Bachelor's Degrees: one in Microbiology and one in Psychology.
I have been a laboratory instructor, a supplemental instruction leader, a co-teacher, and a private tutor for many undergraduate science courses, including Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, and Math.
I realize that many students have the formulas and facts already, and that they simply need a little guidance in putting it all together. As a teacher of all ages, from Elementary to College, I know how to lead a person to the answer they are looking for without giving it out directly; this enhances deeper learning by forcing the student to make connections in their own style, while still giving them insight into how an experienced student thinks about those concepts.
