About Ben
I am an animal biologist with a passion for biotechnology and coding! I have an Upper 2.1 degree from the University of Birmingham in Biological Sciences with a specialisation in Animal Sciences. I am proficient in statistics and am enthusiastic for the logic of mathematics. I am lively and encourage full participation and engagement in sessions.
I have 2 years of tutoring experience in person and took this last year off to focus on my studies. I am looking to broaden my horizons and help reach more students.

For my Biology and Maths lessons there is a basic format:
Familiarisation of the learning outcomes to ensure all are being hit and the tutee is aware of what they should have learnt by the end of the lesson in addition to answering any questions they may have from the last session.
The main teaching of the content for that session making sure that all syllabus points are hit and the tutee would know how to go around solving a problem using the knowledge given.
In most lessons this should allow us enough time to go through a practice question together and clear up any confusion the tutee may have surrounding the subject.
Finally, a quick check to demonstrate how we hit the learning objectives and what we will move on to in our next session.
Overall, using relatable elements of the subjects in addition to the steps above will help the tutee to fully understand the subject and perform well in any exams.
