About the lesson

I’m a dedicated Chemistry tutor with over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. My passion lies in helping students understand and solve real-world problems through chemistry. I specialize in corrosion chemistry and protective methods, teaching how and why materials degrade over time.

I guide students through electrochemical corrosion mechanisms, showing the fundamental reactions that cause metals to corrode. We also explore passivation — nature’s way of protecting surfaces — and how to enhance it artificially. I explain cathodic protection techniques in detail, from sacrificial anodes to impressed current systems. Material selection for corrosion resistance is another key topic I emphasize, helping you choose the right materials for the right environment.

To make learning practical and engaging, I bring in industrial case studies and examples of material failure from pipelines, bridges, ships, and buildings. These stories make the concepts come alive and show how they apply in real situations. My teaching combines clear explanations with hands-on problem-solving and discussions.
