About Daniel

I am a former Royal Navy veteran with seven years of service before pursuing higher education and qualifying as a Further Education lecturer. That background instilled a level of discipline, reliability, and commitment that directly shapes how I work with students. Sessions start on time, are well prepared, and have a clear purpose.

I hold an MSc and have delivered curricula to UK national standards and international university standards across two countries. I understand precisely what examiners and assessors are looking for because I have written and marked assessments at that level myself.

About the lesson

I am a qualified Further Education lecturer with over six years of teaching experience across secondary school, university, and college settings in both the UK and internationally. I have taught GCSE Science at high school level, degree level Civil Engineering Mathematics and Foundation Maths at the British University of Bahrain, and currently deliver BTEC Engineering at Levels 1 to 3, T Level, and Further Mathematics at Wigan & Leigh College.

I hold an MSc and taught at university level for three years internationally before returning to the UK, bringing a broad academic perspective that few private tutors can offer.

My approach is diagnostic and student led. Every new student starts with a short assessment to identify exactly where the gaps are, so we focus time on what actually needs work. I use worked examples, past paper practice, and regular questioning to build confidence and cement understanding, adapting my style to each individual whether that means rebuilding from foundations or stretching beyond the syllabus.

Sessions are typically one hour, delivered online or in person in the Wigan area, and are suitable for students aged 14 and upwards from GCSE through to BTEC Level 3, A Level, and university foundation level.
