About Melissa
My name is Melissa, I'm currently 19 years old, and have recently completed my European Baccalaureate. I was born in England, but I grew up in Toronto, Canada for 11 years before moving to southern France 3 years ago.
I'm somebody with lots of ambition and who loves to learn. I've helped French and foreign students alike with learning the English language since moving to France, and I absolutely love it. I really enjoy meeting new people and learning about their life, where they come from, and their culture. I greatly strive towards trying to inspire and help people in hopes of always making a positive impact.
I also hope to share with you my stories from the experience of growing up in different English-speaking countries and even teach you more about their cultures!

As a tutor, the most important thing to me is that you enjoy and understand what you're learning in these lessons. I'm incredibly patient, so if there's something that you don't understand, I will take all the time needed to explain it until you feel comfortable with the subject.
My typical approach to teaching a student would be to start with a topic you feel most comfortable with and slowly build to a more challenging level. I adapt to the pace of each student to avoid any feelings of confusion or overwhelmingness and increase difficulty whenever they're ready.
To make things more fun and creative for my students, I like to include activities and games to make things more engaging, as each person learns differently. Playing a game that involves the skills that we learn together can greatly help with an individual's memory and understanding of a certain subject.
I tend to teach English to those learning it in school. However, if you're someone who is not in school but has the desire to learn the language, I'd be more than happy to teach you too!
